Candy Free Easter Basket Favorites

Ugh, I saw Peeps the other day. Peeps have to be my least favorite candy every created. Pure sugar, the textures, the eerily cute appearance. No offense to all of you that love them but I hate Peeps. I really do. That said. I am not a hater of all Easter candy. I love Cadbury Mini Eggs with every fiber of my being and that is true. I see the purple bag the second it hits the stores right after Valentine's Day and my heart does a pitter patter... but they aren't good for us! Any Easter gifts I am giving this year are either going to be sweet or spicy without the calories!

P&P: Top Holiday Party Looks

What do I think you should wear this holiday season? Personally, I will be rocking a sweater or two, maaaybe a Christmas Dinner dress but for those of you still able to snag cocktails and have a rockin' new Year's Eve, these are your top party looks according to me. I'll break it down for you: Family Pictures, Christmas Dinner. Holiday Cocktails and New Year's Eve. Check it.
*
Family Pictures: No need to make a huge production out of your family pictures. Casual is cute and that is the model I am living by this Holiday season, since I really don't have a choice. I am personally going to wear my reindeer sweater from Loft for pictures and the casual Holiday luncheon we plan to throw. Pictured: Reindeer Jacquard Sweater, Embellished Fair Isle Sweater, Holiday Sweater in FairIsle
*
Christmas Dinner: I know that some wouldn't think to wear a dress to Christmas dinner since this cans sometimes be a casual affair but these dresses are sweet and comfortable PLUS they are forgiving on the waist line when you eat too many Santa cookies. Pictured: BR Ponte Fit and Flair DressNeedle + Thread Multi Lace Stitch DressOld Navy Floral Shift Dress
*
Holiday Cocktails: Heading out with the girls to celebrate the holidays with a drink? Having a work outing not in the office but a fancy restaurant? Kick it up a notch with a fancy (but not too fancy) cocktail dress or pantsuit. Pictured: Chic Racerback Jumpsuit, Native Rose Lace Cutwork ShiftASOS Blue Floral Skater Dress

New Year's Eve: Here is your time to shine, literally. Sequins, metallics, white hot dresses... New Year's is a time to look classy but also look sexay. I am a big fan of leaving a little something to the imagination while still really feeling great about yourself .Pictured: True Decadence Sequin Dress, ASOS Origami Bow DressBA&SH Tiare Dress

My Fall Favorites

There have been a few things I have snagged as the weather has gotten colder, because #1 I needed to keep warm and #2 I just simply love shopping. My new favorite thing to do is shop without breaking the bank and while hitting the amazing sales but there have been some key items that I have bought because they needed to be a part of my Fall wardrobe. My fab four are as follows:

Plaid Shirts- A classic staple, yet every year I see a new design that I need for my collection. Whether you want to spend $15 (Old Navy) or $225 (Hudson), there are so many cool options for any budget! My top pick? This Men's American Rag Frosty Plaid number... hey, a men's cut is comfy and sorta sexy!

ASOS Helps Me Rock My Maternity Style

I think maternity clothes have come a long way since our Mothers were sporting their smocks that served one purpose... covering the bump. All sorts of retailers are starting to offer their take on what the modern woman wants to wear while pregnant and growing, some more successful than others. One of my favorites by far? It's ASOS Maternity. Not only do they have my ever favorite affordability factor but they have the style that we have come to know and love from ASOS.

Outfit Post: Boston Blogger Dinner

This past Tuesday, there was a dinner to attend and in order to attend said dinner, I had to dress up the baby bump. Now for anyone who is or has been preggers, dressing up the bump can be a challenge not only physically and literally but also for the self esteem. It's hard to wear something with confidence and feel good about yourself when you are gaining weight in all the wrong places, well except that actual bump. I think I managed to pull off something worth showing off and I wore heels, which unfortunately we didn't get a picture of haha but overall, the man did well capturing the evening's look.

Get the Look, Fall/Winter Evening Wear

Of course, I peruse all manner of People Style Watches and US Weekly's for what the stars are donning for their evenings out. I cannot afford Louis V or Armani but I can take some sweet inspiration from what they girls are wearing and pull it into my own wardrobe. I mean, how hard can it be to recreate some simple yet effective evening looks for Fall parties and nights out with the ladies?

Must Have Items for Fall

There are things that I am always on the lookout for Fall. I am sure you remember just last week I had my Mood Board and now I am narrowing the mood down to actual items that I think every girl should stash for the Fall and some of my faves in those categories. I'd love to get your thoughts on what are "must haves" for Fall in your book, what your staples consist of.

Every girl needs the following items for Fall: A Transitional Coat ...My pick? This Oasis Drape Coat in Creme provides enough warmth to keep you on the go but not so much bulk like we need in the Winter. A pair of skinny jeans or jeggings because there are riding boots that need to have pants tucked into the. I am loving the denim jeggings at Very. A Backpack... we love to be out an about with Fall activities and this girl likes to carry a lot of business with her. This ASOS Backpack Tartan is my favorite and on trend for Fall in plaid print. A Printed Dress ... to wear to occasions. You have to wear a dress sometimes, even in the Fall. A nice print in Fall inspired colors is a great staple for work and for play in the upcoming months. I just scored this 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Animal Print Dress... And like I was mentioning before, there is nothing more exciting than taking out your Riding Boots in the cooler weather. They are fabulously easy to wear but also chic at the same time. Love love love the River Island Leather Contrast Knee High BootsSomething Sparkly, hey gotta be a girl! My friend Elise gifted me a pair similar to these Kate Spade sparkly stunners as a Bridesmaid gift and I think these bad Larries are going to be a nice staple in my Fall wardrobe.

What do you insist on for Fall?

Outfit Post: The Wedding

I thought I would continue sharing some of our awesome wedding photography for those who were interested. My photographer, Alvah Reida, was super awesome about catching everything that I wanted, which included my wedding outfit. Obvi, I had to do the ultimate in outfit post for you guys, though this ensemble is something that I will never wear together again... though I will say that this ASOS blazer matched my Valentino booties perfectly, it was almost like kismet... I think jeans and a tee are in order in the future. And my super special jewelry will make an appearance too <3 font=""> Anyhow, check it after the jump.

Celebrity Inspired Winter Wear

I am currently looking for lots of outfit inspirations to get me through this Winter. It's so easy to hunker down, wearing sweaters and boots with no regard for looking fashion forward and only thinking about being warm... no, Amanda, no... don't give in to a complacent wardrobe! Where can you find new outfit ideas? Dur, celebrities. They have stylists who pick their clothes out for them, so why not take a couple notes from some of your fave celebs. Well, that's what I did. Check out some of my fave looks from the week, from some of my faves, and some attainable clothing options for us regular gals.

Azealia Banks for ASOS Christmas Collection [Sponsored Video]

I actually have some places to go this Holiday season so obviously, I have been thinking about some new, somewhat sassy pieces that are the "very rare" type of purchase. I have only been making very prudent purchases lately, you know those staples that you can be sure will earn their keep in the wardrobe. I haven't even been thinking about buying a bejeweled midriff baring top that would stop the show. (editor's note: I would never wear a midriff baring top). What I am saying here, people, is that I need to buy something out of my ordinary... and that's where, seriously, ASOS Christmas and Winter collections come into play. As I write this blog post, I have another screen open to ASOS where I alternate going page by page, looking at the hundreds and hundreds of items that they offer. Ask most girls and they will tell you that they can lose hours on the ASOS site.

I happen to love one of the spokespersons for the ASOS Christmas collection, Azealia Banks, who if you didn't know is a rad rapper and singer. She, unlike me, can pull of a bejeweled midriff baring top and make it look effortless. She is radiant and that's what I want to achieve with my "rare" purchase... something that people will look at me and say #1 you look amazing and #2 where did you get that?

Soooo not only can you buy great duds, you can win them from ASOS as well… sounds pretty good right? For a chance to win Azealia's wardrobe from her video, make sure you pin from the video below and use the hashtag #BestNightEver so that you’re entered. Pretty dang easy, am I right? I am happy to help celebrate my holidays with free stuff and I don’t think we could be friends if you didn’t, so yeah.

Be sure to follow ASOS on Twitter and like ASOS on Facebook for all the updates on this collection, the latest steals and everything glittery. I am really digging so much on the site right now that I couldn't begin to share it all with you. One thing that is on my must have list though is the following fabulous ensemble.
ASOS Pencil Skirt in Baroque Chain Print, $35.18, ASOS APOLLO Studded Boots, $123.13, ASOS Petite Exclusive Sequin Jacket, $114.34

ASOS Christmas Collection [Sponsored Video]

I am sure you all are well aware that I am a huge fan of ASOS and the pages upon pages of sweet @$$ clothes and accessories that they have to offer a young-ish adult fashionista such as myself. I have talked about my love affair with their clothes and shoes, most recently sporting one of the dresses I purchased from them at my Bridal shower. Anyway, as we gear up for the fabulous holidays coming our way, I can’t help but turn to ASOS for my “Holiday Party Wear” needs. I don’t want just the regular fare; I want something funky yet affordable… and maybe I’ll even grab something for my rehearsal dinner while I am at it ;-). And yes, I do plan my outfits this far in advance.

ASOS has certainly got some friggin’ fun stuff going on right now, what with the rad Charlotte Free, Elle Goulding and Azealia Banks working it out in some interactive videos for their Christmas collection…. And the pretty righteous looks in luxe fabrics and cool prints….. and the shoes, oh the shoes…. And theeeeeen they are giving away the looks that Charlotte features in the video… sounds pretty good to this diva. For a chance to win, make sure you pin from the video below and use the hashtag #BestNightEver so that you’re entered. Pretty dang easy, am I right? I am happy to help celebrate my holidays with free stuff and I don’t think we could be friends if you didn’t, so yeah.

Be sure to follow ASOS on Twitter and like ASOS on Facebook for all the updates on this collection, super deals and other shenanigans that those silly bears are up to. Want to see what my favorite holiday looks are?

Outfit Post: Bridal Shower Beauty

Recently, those that I love, of the female persuasion, threw me an absolutely wonderful bridal shower. It was one of those days that you just feel so loved and are full of smiles. Of course, for such a day, a girl wants to look her best so I was all about planning my outfit in advance for sure. I wonder if you remember how I asked my readers to vote on what I would wear for this lovely occasion... well here is the reminder. It was close but the winner was the Warehouse Paisley Dress from ASOS. It fit like a glove when I received it so I knew that it must have been meant to be! To boot, I had my makeup trial that morning (thank you, Steph, for the recommendation) so I was feeling like a foxy lady... and no, I am not elderly. Dare I say it, but the man took some photos reminiscent of "Glamour Shots" haha.

Bridal Shower Dresses, the Finalists

So it's about today that I am 4 months out from my wedding, I know crazy, right? So the next few months are going to be pretty fast paced and full of projects and things to do. One of the more exciting things on a bride's to do list is of course, her bridal shower. I want to look fierce that day so even though I have about a month to go before the day of my shower, I want to make sure that I have got my look planned to a t. My friend Steph tipped me off to having your make up trial the day of your shower, so, well, you have your make up professionally done for the occasion. I made that appointment. Now what am I going to wear? I have narrowed the dress down to three and I am hoping that you guys can give me your honest opinion, plus, I am trying this whole "put a poll in your blog post" thing.

So which dress do you like the best for a Fall bridal shower?

Obsession Alert: Mesh Shoes

Yes, I know it's not Tuesday but rather it's Thursday...but one thing is for sure, every day is Shoesday. My latest shoe obsession? I know it's crazy but I am really into meshy shoes. Now don't leave, hear me out. Lots of designers are jumping on the mesh bandwagon and I have fallen prey. I just purchased these New York Knicks inspired (no, not really) kicks from ASOS. They had many different colors so I don't know why I landed on blue and orange, but I did. I think these are a cute Summer solution when you need a pedi like Whoa. What do you think?

Obsession Alert: White Shoes for Summer

As Summer is fast approaching and because I am pretty much always thinking about shoes, I wondered what the new frontier would be in my shoe closet. I most definitely have attacked the platform trend with a vengeance. I have plenty of colors. The staples are there, browns, blacks and neutral tones... but what is left? Since I am saving/paying/sort of saving for a wedding, house and all that jazz, I have to really justify spending money on new shoes... and by justify, I mean "explain to the man why I bought them." Anyhoo, as I searched for my newest additions, I realized that my shoe wardrobe is seriously lacking white for Summer!

DIY Tassel Necklace, Maybe

I was really inspired by tassel necklaces popping up all over the place, mainly this one from Jewelmint and another from Asos... I thought they looked pretty easy to make so I decided to embark on an adventure in jewelry making. This is where I start to think about what it will actually take to make once of these... well, turns out, I could only sort of make one of these.

Mint Fever has Hit Me!

I am like soooooooo digging minty fresh colors these days. I get that so is everyone else but that doesn't mean that I love it any less... well sometimes, I like to go against trends, but not in this case. There are a couple of minty images that have really made me crush harder ( I will pause here for you take in the splendor)... Am I right? Disclaimer: I pretty much love whatever Rachel McAdams does. Mint it is.
