Buy or DIY --->Cleaning Your Silver Jewelry

I recently moved from a framed jewelry holder to a more cozy cloth container as I was seeing a lot of my silver jewelry look like they'd been in a war when I hadn't worn the piece in quite some time. As I saw the jewelry become more tarnished, I searched for ways to clean the earrings and necklaces that had lost their shine. There are a few different tutorials that I found that were simple and super affordable but did they work as well as commercial wipes or cleaner that you can buy almost anywhere? I decide to do a quick comparison so I would know what to do in the future.

This Blogger at the Barre

This month, I was invited to a Blogger Barre class! Yay!  I had excitedly replied to the invite because I love trying new fitness classes (see previous FlyWheel class) and always feel awesome after going. Fast forward to Saturday morning...*Gulp*... I was like "Ummm, how do I get out of this?" I was cranky. The baby was cranky. It was snowing... you know, all the regular excuses I could make. But no, not today. I was going. Because I know that people put a lot of work into throwing events like this, I knew that I couldn't bow out last minute, plus, I had already scheduled this time outside of the house without baby or husband, so this was a Saturday set up for "me".

Get there on time. Find parking. Already feeling accomplished. Hug Elissa. Scan room for anyone I recognize. Oh, hi Liz, Jaime and Jen! Class starts. Mirrors everywhere. Starting to glisten. Wow, muscles I didn't know I had, activated. Did I put deodorant on today? Yes, deodorant, activated. Music is really good, I'm jamming. This really is a good workout. I understand what everyone raves about. Legs feel a little like jelly. Wow, Jen is good at this. Watch Jen to make sure you're doing it right. Don't let Jen catch you staring. Damn, Forgot to set my fitbit for a workout. Attempt to do the splits as instructed. When in Rome! I did OK. Class ends. As suspected, I feel awesome.... and glad I went.

This was my first ever barre class and though I was nervous, I had great support both in the people surrounding me and the two bras that I was wearing. The music was great, the instructor was super helpful so that I made the most out of this workout. I would most definitely go back because I have been feeling the effects of the class all week! Thanks to  Elissa of Style Wire and Simply Barre South Boston for busting this Mama's butt!

Have you ever been to a barre class? What did you think?

Candy Free Easter Basket Favorites

Ugh, I saw Peeps the other day. Peeps have to be my least favorite candy every created. Pure sugar, the textures, the eerily cute appearance. No offense to all of you that love them but I hate Peeps. I really do. That said. I am not a hater of all Easter candy. I love Cadbury Mini Eggs with every fiber of my being and that is true. I see the purple bag the second it hits the stores right after Valentine's Day and my heart does a pitter patter... but they aren't good for us! Any Easter gifts I am giving this year are either going to be sweet or spicy without the calories!
*Florentine Egg Plates, *Lulu by Lulu Guiness Shoulder Bag, * Soap and Glory Star Body Buttercream, *Capri Sandals, *William-Sonoma Easter Basket, *Easter Cookie Cutter Box Set, *Meadow Medley Stuffed Lamb,
*Professor Phardtpounders Colon Cleaner Hotsauce, *Easter Eggstravaganza Mad Libs, *I Like Easter Eggs Decal, *Yoda Plush Easter Basket, *Shamanuti Activated Charcoal Cleanser, *ASOS Clutch bag, *Capri Sandals, *Plush Posable Chick, *Yellow Banded Easter Plates,

What's going in your Easter basket this year?

Let's Stop and Refocus for a Moment, Shall We?

This year, Prim and Propah turns 5 years old. Geesh, this blog has been one of the great commitments of my life. I kept my dog and cat alive for 7 and 8 years, respectively. I've gotten married, bought a house and had a child. All pretty committed commitments... but this blog. This blog could have fizzled out but it didn't. This has definitely been an outlet for me over the years. It has been strong and robust at times but has also had slightly anemic periods where it was on life support, whether due to lack of time or focus or energy. But here she is, 5 years later (in June) and she's still kicking. Like my life over the past few years, this blog has shifted. What I want to talk about is somewhat different and what is important to me is changing in direction... so it's time to refocus and with that shift, a redesign.

I found Minka how I find a lot of new and interesting things... on Twitter of course. Once I perused their site, I found that they are based out of Maine, in Kennebunkport, just a hop, skip and jump away from Boston. Being that you know I love a good "local" New England business, I reached out to the super sweet owners of Minka, a modern boutique + online shop. Just as suspected, they are as cool as you'd think, even cooler perhaps. I mean, just read what they have to say... and just try to resist their natural body care line *swoon*.

Tasty Tidbits

So my dog has been using everything that is lying around for the baby. The boppy is now a head pillow. Stuffed monkeys are chew toys. You get the idea. The baby himself is also a new person to give doggy kisses too... so that's cute. Also, I am thinking I want to get a cut and color to look like Debbie Harry. Are we down with that?

The Tap Tap Tap Concealer method is a must try. I am always bummed at how quickly I run out of concealer but turns out that I have been applying it all wrong! (via Marie Claire)

So many have performed the classic songs from Sound of Music but besides the original, I was pretty much obsessed with Lady Gaga's version from The Oscars. And then Julie Andrews gave her a long hug. Cue Tears. Here is a round up of all the performances for the Sound of Music 50th Anniversary (Via People)

I'll keep reminding you: Yoga Reaches Out New England Yogathon is taking place Sunday April, 26th at the Field House at Gillette Stadium. I joined my yoga studio's team and am raising money for Yoga Reaches OutBen Speaks Louder than Words and Boston Children's Hospital. I have never done two 2 hour sessions in a day but I think it will be super fun and for a great cause! Want to help me secure a mat space and also help these awesome charities? You can visit my personal page here to make a donation of any size!

These LOFT sunglasses are my new jam. I have gotten SO many compliments on them and I have, seriously, never really gotten compliments on sunglasses. These are definitely going in a case and being taken care of so they can stay with me forever and ever.

I'm sorry, but making the rounds this week on the nets is Kylie Jenner's makeup mishap, where her cleavage contouring went wrong. When I read the article, I was reminded that Kylie is 17 years old. No 17 year old should look like she does. Is that judgmental of me? I guess I am really bothered that she has already had "work" done and feels the need to alter the look of her bosoms and she hasn't even hit the legal age to buy scratch tickets. If I am ever to have a daughter, I will be keeping her under lock and key! ;-) (via Cosmo)

Being OK with Me

Here I am again, going to spread some realness on you all. Amanda is in a funk and this is a step that I am using to get out of it! I'm "on" Weight Watchers and while it's fun at first, to calculate your points and see what you like and don't like, what fills you up, what leaves you hungry... after awhile, it's a full time job. Like any other job, it's work and sometimes you don't feel like doing it. Add this job to a full time career and caring for a baby, well, sometimes something has got to give and it's usually the diet and exercise. I commend the mother's who have the motivation/energy/time/willingness to be super fit and svelte, no, I really do. I wish I was that kind of mother.

Springtime Wardrobe Day Dreaming, the White Eyelet Anything

Oh the weather. I am sick of hearing about it but seriously, this Winter, if you didn't watch the weather, you could still pretty much count on Snow + Cold... but this week, here in the Northeast, we have had a slight reprieve, a taste of the Spring to come... and this has Mama dreaming of all that a Spring wardrobe entails. Short sleeves, shoes to wear without socks... I'm not asking too much am I? One thing I KNOW that I am going to be purchasing in the near future is a white eyelet skirt, or maybe a dress, but I am pretty sure a skirt. I am crushing on white eyelet lately and I don't know why I am so drawn! This gets baby heart eye emoji all day long.

What is your Spring Wardrobe Go To going to be?

Sunday with My Crew + a "Family Restaurant"

Life isn't terribly exciting these days but I almost prefer it that way for right now. We have been going out for late lunches on these past few Sundays, and it's been my favorite part of the weekends. The lil spud has been very well behaved and more importantly, predictable lately. This makes for a less stressful trip out into public and we are able to enjoy behaving like normal human beings. We hit the road on Sunday and it took us a couple of tries to find a place to eat, go figure. Our local brunch place, apparently, only has two high chairs, one of which was in use and one of which was broken. Next. We then went to the British Beer Company. Much to our dismay, there was live music. We suspected that live music and a 9 month old, would only fly for a short period of time before a possible meltdown might occur. Next. Chili's. This may not have ever been our first, second or even third choice but we got a taste of what a family friendly restaurant is all about (no, really) and why these requirements are a fit for our new life. Plus, "Extra Extra we enjoyed ourselves!"

Deja Vu Much? Kelly Clarkson is Beautiful

Yesterday, among far too many tweets and articles about Kim Kardashian's platinum hair, were articles about how awesome Kelly Clarkson's response to fat shaming was. I immediately was reminded of a post that I did a little more than three years ago, about how the internet took to belittle Kelly Clarkson about her weight and how pissed it made me. This time around, a British TV personality took to the internet to sound off about what she thought about Kelly's appearance. I toyed with writing this post yesterday but eh, I was tired and had a basket of socks to pair up... that was until I did my nightly review of my Instagram, seeing a photo of Kelly on the BravoTv feed.Well, if I thought I was pissed three years ago, I am hella angry today. I'm like legit pissed off.  Yay, she's on Watch What Happens Live! Oh hell no, people were making nasty comments about her weight in Andy's territory. People are assholes. As a fellow new Mom, I am here to come to Kelly's defense, not that she needs me to. She's got this sh!t under control.
