Concert Costuming

Obvi Lady Gaga gets attention for her outrageous outfits, Katy Perry brings up the rear with a different kind of fantastical outfitting and now Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine fame) is being dressed in Gucci (which I would pay to see but unfortunately was sold out in my area)... this makes me feel not so silly for liking to step out of the box sometimes. By no means am I wearing a hat made out of human hair (seeing as I already have human hair on my head) buuuuuuuuuut these ladies are breaking the mold and making it accepted if not OK to be a little weird. I like being weird. Weird is better than boring, am I right?

A Jar Full of Awesome

So manfriend and I went to Brattleboro, VT a couple of weekends ago and let me tell you what an enjoyable thrift/ consignment shopping experience this was. I will be doing a separate post on all the neat stuff that I saw buuuuuuuuut my shining acheivement? Was the jar full of awesome. I got it for $10.00 at a vintagey/consignment type place in Brattleboro called Twice Upon a Time and it was amaaaaazing (like I said, separate post). So anyway, Jar de Awesome.

This may look silly because what stands out are the little toys and the Santa Cookie Cutter (which was going NO WHERE NEAR MY COOKIES) but once I dumped it out and explored, this was like the goldmine of costume jewelry (some in great condition, others in need of love). As if the jar itself weren't cool enough on it's own, there were some cool little trinkets that I was happy to have found.

I am super excited to see what will come of all this "junk" but I have a feeling it will be something COOL! We shall see...

Celebrating a Year (Oh and Giveaway!)

Soooooooo today is my blog's one year anniversary! HIP HIP HOORAY! Can you believe it?  I stuck with this for one year and have done my darnedest to make it better, improve and forge ahead with my ever changing creative goals... I am just so happy to be blessed with people who support me in my endeavors and with their encouragement, I make it through the blah days!

This blog started as a diary of sorts that basically only the man friend read but as I started to become more involved with the creative community, I started to make some friends; and seeing comments on posts  from people you don't know in real life? AWESOME! Over the past year, I have made "friends" from all over the US and some even overseas (the UK and Australia!). I am happy to say that Prim and Propah had over 10,000 views in the past year which, in my humble opinion, is nothing to sneeze at.

So anyways, while I am at home celebrating this achievement with the manfriend, pup and kitterface (possibly dancing and/ or drinking wine), I thought I would let all my new friends share in the celebration as well! What do people love more than a giveaway? Wellp, a BIG giveaway. Over the past year, I have discovered so many amaaaazing and talented ladies (see sidebar where links are of my favorites thus far)... and four of my faves jumped at the chance to make a one of a kind item in honor of my blogiversary! AWESOME, RIGHT? Sooooooo, wanna check out what you can win? One lucky winner will get all 4 of the following super special handmade items....Tadaaaaaaa!

My girl Erin of Petal and Pink whipped up these darlings... she has a romantical way about her, making her jewelry some of my faves. These beauties? Inspired by The Great Gatsby:

Stephanie of Earth Mama Artistry shares a love of peacocks (hence the creation below), cute things and Massachusetts... her items are surely some of the more adorable I have seen:

Sooooo there's tons of ways to enter and believe me when I say I wish I could keep this stuff all to myself! Oh and be sure to tell you friends 'cause chances are we would be good friends too! MUAH XOXO and Happy Blogiversary to me!

Pineapple

My One Moment came this past week when I asked the man to pick up some fruit at the grocery store so that I could make some fruit salad for a Memorial Day cookout. He was a good boy and went to the store last minute for me. He got all of the fruits I asked for and more... but I was surprised when that man walked through the door with a legit pineapple pineapple (not precut but rather spiky). I have never cut into a pineapple before. My immediate response was to be irritated at him because he didn't get the pre-cut pineapple. Guh, what a raging maniac I can be. He went to the store for me on a Holiday weekend. If that's not love, I don't know what is. Thankfully, I didn't vocalize my irritation.

I more voiced it in a "I don't know how to cut a pineapple" kind of way... we would figure it out. We inherited a Pampered Chef Tomato knife that did the trick and don't you know that fresh pineapple is like the yummiest in the world? My One Moment this week, if you hadn't noticed, was me catching myself being ungrateful of someone who does a lot for me. Thank you pineapple (oh and Thank you Brandon).

Incorporating Vintage

So I was totally inspired by the girls from the Slaves to Fashion blog on Glamour.com when they shared a week's worth of looks that all had a touch or more of Vintage...Jen totally rocked it. I totally try to work Vintage pieces into my wardrobe all the time (some outfits being more successful than others of course) so I was encouraged to document my own looks and get feedback on whether or not I have the knack or not. Eh, regardless if anyone thinks I have got the knack, I still love my vintage and thrifted goods... I love a piece of clothing with character, no lie.

OK so what do you think of my looks with a dash of vintage loving?
