I really didn't intend on watching the entire Academy Awards ceremony last night but, eh, I did... and I am certainly glad that I did because Lordy, Bette Midler belted out Wind Beneath My Wings and myself, along with the rest of the world, shed a tear over our joint memories of weeping over Beaches. But in any event, before the event, I was watching the red carpet for my favorite and least favorite looks of the evening. I have to say that I was a smidge disappointed with the selection I had to choose from this year but I managed to pull through ;-)
Best
Olivia Wilde in Valentino- Not only does this dress have a 60's/Mod like vibe to it but dang girl, you look so amazingly beautiful and pregnant that I cannot stand it. She is a vision of loveliness. Dress is simple but really, her best accessory is that baby bump, which she wears so well.

Best and Worst Dressed, Golden Globes 2014
Last night's Golden Globe awards were hilarious and full of honest moments. I really enjoyed staying up past my bedtime to see all the funny bits and actually know who the winners are before the lists come out in the morning. Obvi, while I watched the awards, I was compiling all of my favorite and not so favorite looks from the night. There were some real winners but oddly enough, I felt like there were some stellar actresses that were so poorly dressed! Bad clothes happened to such good people this year... anyhoo, let me just show you my faves and nots! Be sure to weigh in on yours too!
Best
Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren, my number one top pick of the night. That color with her complexion... she looks so stunning. Though reminiscent of Gwyneth's Tom Ford number from something or other, it really is something to behold. I would be surprised if she didn't show up on every single best dressed list today.
Kate Mara in J. Mendel, this may not be every one's cup of tea but something about her new hair color and the way that this dress is draped has made this one of my top picks. Cleavage like that doesn't hurt either!
Emma Watson in Dior Couture, puh-lease girl, this is no simple red dress... are those pants under there? Is it the illusion of pants? Will we ever know? One thing is for certain, Emma looks stunning and effortless.

Best and Worst Dressed, Golden Globes 2013
I wasn't able to catch the Golden Globes this year due to being out of the country on a pesky trip called a Honeymoon but that doesn't mean I didn't bootup the laptop as soon as I was able to check out the red carpet fashion. Of course I had my clear favorites and those that I didn't care for too much. For what it's worth, here are my faves and my not so muches.
Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy Couture- So understated but in looking at the details, it's just superbly put together. Amanda has been really bringing it on the red carpet lately and this look is no exception.

Oscars 2012: Best and Worst Dressed
Hello people. Did you watch the Academy Awards last night? I told the man that I only wanted to watch the Red Carpet and then the opening buuuuuut you know I watched the whole thing, causing us to have to record The Walking Dead...oh well. The show itself was lackluster, Billy Crystal made me cringe and there was feedback through the whole show but I did pick my best and worst dressed! Wanna see?

Screen Actors Guild Faves, Ladies in White
I was on a plane last night, heading back from San Fransisco, so I missed the SAG Awards (both the red carpet and the awards ceremony itself) but that didn't mean that I wasn't totally ready to scope out the fashion when I woke up from my post red eye nap! Here is a short list of some of my favorite looks of the night... and they are all ladies who wore white for the evening!
Maybe it's because I have been eyeballin' wedding gown lately but I think the ladies that stole the show for me last night were those ladies wearing white. Just like wedding gowns, each of these ladies' dresses were different from one another and all equally stunning to me. Lena Headey, Gretchen Mol and Judy Greer all had great white gowns. Lena's had silver beaded sleeves that were reminiscent of flapper era styles. Gretchen's gown was simple with pops of gold at the waist and collar but for some reason it just really stood out to me. Judy's dress was lacy, delicate and romantic... and of course she looked beautiful (side bar: I think Judy Greer has gotten better with age. She is lovlier every day.)
My favorite look of the night (and I know people will disagree with me on this) was Rose Byrne in an Elie Saab jumpsuit. Her hair gets more adorable every day. The beading on this jumpsuit is divine. her jewelry and clutch are fabulous. I am love love loving this look. Oh and I forgot to mention, that it was white; just plain lovely.
Did you watch the awards show last night? Did you have your favorite looks or themes in the gowns?
