Color Me Cured

You know I am always down for a good charitable cause... but this one is just so special. Founded by Phoebe Steinfeld, a current high school sophomore in New Jersey, Color Me Cured is a non-profit organization with the sole purpose of raising money for cancer research. The money raised benefit Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center and aid in the fight against cancer. Color Me Cured features a line of nail polish and t-shirts. All of their products are of the highest quality, and the folks at Color Me Cured wish to spread the message of inspiration, hope and support, one bottle at a time.

Just had to share you guys... I totally dig this story.

Power to the Creative People

Yesterday, Urban Outfitters got its @$$ handed to them by the online creative/ artsy/ handmade community. You see, Urban Outfitters has been known to take ideas from independent artists and designers, mass produce them, then sell them back to their target audience, creative types. Booo Hssssss Urban Outfitters, Boooo Hsssss. (Note: Forever 21 is guilty of stealing ideas and are sometimes more blatant about it). Anyway, yesterday the social media sites were a flutter with angry bees (bees being artistic types who hate to see their ideas stolen)... see this great blog post from My Aim is True explaining how her tweet took flight and helped lay the smack down on a stealing creep.

I just thought I would post a little blurb about how great I think the online crafting/handmade/art community is. People really banded together on this one and seemingly made a difference. It may not seem like much but look at all that happened in one day!

My Favorite Tree Necklace by Truche

*At the center of this commotion is an Etsy seller, Truche, (much like my crafty friends) who is passionate about her art. I hope that this attention boosts her sales and makes her all the more successful!

Summer Ensemble Dreams

A girl can dream about her most wonderful and extravagant summer ensemble right? Well, I am certainly not allowed to purchase as much as I once was (thank you manfriend for teaching me a lesson or two in wearing what I have before buying more) but that doesn't mean I am not going to dream about my perfect summer ensemble... Yes, I have expensive tastes but that doesn't mean that I'll actually act on those urges to purchase. Anyhow, are you interested in what I must have for my summer beach ensemble?

Exploring Boston via Ducktour, Check!

Sooooo one of the many things I want to do before we leave New England was a ducktour through Boston and is of course the best land/sea tour in the area (don't be fooled by the super duck tours)... The man's friends coming from Maryland and a super awesome Buywithme coupon and we were booked on a Sunday afternoon Ducktour...

It was rainy (hence the lack of pictures) but we had an awesome time.

The ride consisted of a ride through Boston historic landmarks and a guided tour of sorts (our guide was a bit of a joker so I am unsure if some of what he said was true or not...

*The only thing we didn't enjoy about this? Were the Kardashian's sitting in the front row... you'd think we were interrupting their Ducktour...

We considered this a great double date and I scratched one more off my list of things to do before leaving New England! Hollaaaaaa!

List Update:
1. Climb Mt. Monadnok
2. Holiday trip to Yankee Candle
3. Portland, ME weekend
4. Touring Newport RI
5. Great Barrington Farmer's Market
6. King Richard's Fair
7. Topsfield Fair
8. New England Sports Games
9.Vermont Foliage
10. Chipmunks Adventure Stylie Hot Air Ballon Ride
11. Duck Tour

A Prim and Propah Weekend

I helped my good chica Nathalie ring in her 30th birthday just a weekend ago... and let me tell you... IT WAS A BLAST. It's not every day that someone turns 30 years old and kisses their twenties goodbye, MUAH! But at any age, what is most important is having a glorious time, enjoying life and obviously wearing Snuggies at a New York City Bar.
