Spice Up Your Canvas Sneaks, an Easy DIY

Lately, I have been on a major crafty/DIY spree. I don't know if it's the fear that I won't have time to partake for awhile (due to the bun) or that I have been just plain inspired... but for whatever reason, I have been kickin' crafty ass and takin' crafty names. Today's DIY is no exception. Super easy and super affordable, I love turning a plain pair of canvas sneakers into something sassy that no one else has. I took items I had on hand, a pair of Payless sneaks and went to town. Let me know what you think after the jump:

What to Do with All Those Greeting Cards, DIY Bunting

We are having a baby or maybe already have but haven't debuted him yet... you'll never know! You may have already given us/sent us a card. If so, you are probably expecting, at some point, that your card will be thrown out with the bath water (not the baby, of course)... but after having just tossed some of our wedding greeting cards that were water damaged, I decided that I wanted to put the baby greetings of love, to a better use for the time being. At some point earlier this year, Amy of I'm Gonna Fly, posted an Instagram pic of how she put her well wishes to amazing use and I vowed to her that I would steal the idea, and here I am doing just that. She created an adorable bunting for the baby's nursery which looked both easy and meaningful. I mean, all those people took the time to buy a card and write well wishes.

Mani Monday, Pretty Pastels

Happy Mani Monday my dear friends. What am I most obsessed with for my nails right now? It's all about the pastels to me... blues, purples, pinks and sea foam greens. I swoon. Spring is the time to rock these shade after all, am I right? I have compiled some of my favorite shades that may or may not be coming home next time I hit Ulta. To my husband, it looks like I collect a lot of the same colors but I have to set him straight. I say "it's statistically proven that men cannot determine the smaller distinctions in color...." or something like that. But all you gurlz know what I am sayin'... I need what I need and this batch of polishes is no exception.

essie nail color in guchi muchi puchi, $8, Maybelline Color Show in Iced Queen, $3.79, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Coral Reef, $5,  L'Oreal Colour Riche in Butterfly Kisses, $3, butter LONDON in Bossy Pants, $15,  essie nail color in fashion playground, $8, Deborah Lippman in Flowers in her Hair,$15, Crabtree and Evelyn in Petal Pink, $6

What's your favorite polish shade right now?

Super Easy Pillow Making, DIY Tutorials

This past weekend, I spent some time working on the nursery. We have been cleaning out what has been a storage room since we moved into the house, this time last year. What was once full of boxes and books, is not opening up for baby furniture, a day bed and some awesome adventure themed memorabilia. The man and I had painted the room a very light beige/peach in anticipation of at some point needed a room to put a TBD baby in. After only a little discussion, we decided to take the direction of adventure/nerd/foresty themed stuff for a classy yet "us" nursery and decor. We thought this would last us a little while, will make us happy and also be stylish. The obvious first step in the decorating process? Pillows LOL... I know, my priorities are a little off... but I felt like crafting!

Met Ball Fashion at it's Finest

I know I am a little late on posting my favorite looks from the Met Ball this week. It's been a busy one and compiling these looks seemed to have taken me a year. I found that there weren't too many ensembles that I didn't like and that most everyone looked beautiful. Maybe it's the hormones but I couldn't find fault in many looks (except Margot Robbie and Sandra Lee, God Bless them). I did have a few faves based on the interesting details or the surprising choices, so those are what I wanted to share!

Super Easy DIY Herb and Plant Markers

I have to be perfectly honest with myself this Spring and Summer season... I know full well that I won't be able to care for an infant child and an entire vegetable garden no matter how rewarding and satisfying grabbing a fresh squash from the backyard is and would be. That doesn't mean I have to take away the reward of some sort of garden life, which is why I decided to move onward towards my deck herb garden and keeping it alive. Something I have wanted to do that last couple of years was stylize it up, which never seemed to happen... that was until I had the "nesting" urge motivating me to do lots and lots of stuff around the hizzy. DIY herb markers? yep, check thems off the the to do list! Check out how quick, easy and cheap these little loves are to make! --->

A Color Refresh at Mirage Hair Design

This time last week, I was gearing up for a special appointment with my friend Andre at Mirage Hair Design in Natick, MA. My hair, well, let's just say that it was looking mousy and my roots were making an appearance with a vengeance. I had my big Baby-Q to look forward to and I most definitely needed a color refresh... the service that I received was nothing short of awesome.
