Super Easy DIY Herb and Plant Markers

I have to be perfectly honest with myself this Spring and Summer season... I know full well that I won't be able to care for an infant child and an entire vegetable garden no matter how rewarding and satisfying grabbing a fresh squash from the backyard is and would be. That doesn't mean I have to take away the reward of some sort of garden life, which is why I decided to move onward towards my deck herb garden and keeping it alive. Something I have wanted to do that last couple of years was stylize it up, which never seemed to happen... that was until I had the "nesting" urge motivating me to do lots and lots of stuff around the hizzy. DIY herb markers? yep, check thems off the the to do list! Check out how quick, easy and cheap these little loves are to make! --->

Faded Flannel, a DIY

I have been watching Project Runway this season and no, I have not felt like reviewing it. That being said, I did notice one contestant's very interesting flannel shirt. Christopher Palu, one of the better designers in my opinion, has rocked this bleach faded red and while plaid flannel in a couple episodes. I am sure we will see it more but in the interim, I wanted to try it out for myself. You may recall my foray into bleaching denim (which I found to be quite fun) and this had to be the same thing, just strategically placing the bleach to create the desired effect.... and yes, I know this is a man's shirt.

Add an Applique, Add Some Sass

My favorite fabric store (within reasonable travel distance) has this most wonderful attraction. It's called the applique bin. In this bin are all manner of crocheted, woven, lacy, bedazzled appliques and adornments that one saavy and crafty fashionista can purchase for very little money (I'm talking a buck or two a piece). While I was digging through this bin for the prettiest of pretty to take home with me, I got to thinking what I could do to spice up the ol' wardrobe with just one of these. Check how I did it after the breaky-poo.

Are You Dye-ing to DIY?

So I recently made a list on Skinnyscoop (which by the way, you should most def check out) about sprucing up your wardrobe without spending tons of money. One of my tips was to drop some of your stained or dull clothes into a dye bath, basically breathing new life into said clothes. I got some feedback via the list itself, Twitter and the blog post. The general consensus was what a great idea it was, but that people assume that it's hard. I am here to show you how cheap and easy it really is.
