Brushing Our Teeth is a Big Part of the Day

We just had our kid's two year checkup and while the pediatrician said we could do potty training on our own schedule, brushing of the teeth was something that is a parents battle to win, a MUST WIN. I'm sure many parents can relate to the struggle that is really real when you're trying to teach good hygiene and dental habits to a toddler. Good overall healthy begins with dental health as anyone who has had dental issues (raises hands) can attest to. If you've got dental issues, you can have headaches, infections and even more serious issues... something the husband and I have made a priority is wrestling that kid into clean teeth if it's the last thing we do!

I was super psyched to have Firefly and REACH send me and my lil' fam some dental hygiene updates that not only have me perfectly clean along my gum line and working that dirty plaque from every tooth but keeps the kid interested in doing the same, ie FUN! We got an awesome Kylo Ren Light Saber toothbrush, which was the best "get" if you ask me. Not only does Wes want to brush his teeth with it, the brush lights up for one minute, so you know how to time all that business. (one full minute for each row of teeth, people!). The husband got his Ultra Soft Touch (for sensitive gums) and I got my less soft option so we were legit all set to replace our old toothbrushes (probably past their prime)...

We love that Firefly has brought fun to the toothbrushing process. It's a great way to teach the kids the importance of good dental health without boring them. They also make it fun for your crew to take on your routine. When they voluntarily reach for their toothbrush, you feel like, as a parent, you'e doing something right.
