Discover the Caribbean Coast at Stone Zoo- Sponsored

*This post was created in collaboration with Zoo New England, specifically Stone Zoo's new Caribbean Coast Exhibit.

You may remember last year's trip to Franklin Park Zoo to check out what was new, well this year, the team over at Zoo New England wanted to send the Propah kids to check out the Caribbean Coast exhibit that just opened this Spring. My kids were super excited to hit the road and meet some friends to take in some of the sights and sounds at Stone Zoo. We started our journey to the Caribbean in our walk-through aviary, Flamingo Flats, which is exactly what it sounds like... lots and lots of flamingos. We were greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful flock of flamingos, and are excited to come back because I hear it through the grapevine, we may be able to feed them in the near future! This exhibit also features scarlet ibis and colorful macaws (pictured). We also had the rare opportunity to see the critically-endangered Jamaican iguana, the island's largest terrestrial vertebrate which was thought to be extinct for decades.

One child was interested in the beautiful birds (and dressed to match) and the other child was all about the calypso drums that allowed him to make more noise than usual. This area of the zoo has definitely changed since I had last been there (when Wes was a baby) and I have to say for the better, for sure. The kids really enjoyed seeing the birds, the bush dogs, running along the "calypso trail" and onward towards the rest of the zoo. The way that it's set up, you can enter the Stone Zoo, and go directly into the Caribbean Coast exhibit, while the kids are still in a good, patient mood lol. As a mother, I like to plan to hit the animals and exhibits I most want to see, right out of the gate, to ensure that no meltdown has ensued before I see my bush dogs!

We were able to see a lot of the animals on our visit and I think that besides the Caribbean coast, we were really enthralled by the reindeer on this visit, don't ask me why but we came back to them a few times before calling it a day. The bears were hanging out, the company was great and I marked this off as another great visit to the Stone Zoo. I hear from my friends at The Boston Day Book that the Franklin Park Zoo has some great new exhibits as well, so we'll definitely be making use of our membership this Summer and took a map to plan our next trek!

Welcoming Cost Plus World Market to the Cape- Hyannis Grand Opening!

You may remember my over the top excitement when the Cost Plus World Market store opened up in Framingham last Fall so it should come as no surprise that I am super psyched for my peeps close to the Cape to be able to experience the same shopping elation at their very own location opening in Hyannis MA on September 8th (this week!). There are some amazing Grand Opening events that, if you're within driving distance,  you should really make it a point to check out. You want the deets? Well, I've got the deets.

Grand Opening Weekend (Hooray!) September 8 - 11
Doors open at 9am on Thursday, 9/8

621 Iyannough Road
Hyannis, MA 02061

Store Hours: M-F: 10am – 9pm, Sat: 9am – 9pm, Sun: 10am – 7pm

There will be plenty of opportunities to take part in all the neat things that Cost Plus World Market has in store for their Hyannis opening. I think that meeting Rehab Addict Host, Nicole Curtis (Saturday Sept. 17th, 1-3pm, Be the first 200 customers to bring 5 non-perishable, non-glass items to donate to charity and get a signed autograph with Nicole.) is a pretty exciting happening! If your weekend is already booked up, never fear, they have some pretty great stuff happening each and every day. Thursday September 8th, be one of the first 100 customers in the door and grab a $10 gift card. The 8th- 11th free totes for customers each day, daily raffle drawings, live entertainment, tastings and more. Spend over $40 on the weekend and you can eve snag some free movie tickets... it's sure to be worth a stop in, not just for the shopping but to see what they've got lined up to celebrate!

I am leaving work early next week and heading down there for an evening of shopping (which I will surely update you on and am super psyched about). I honestly don't know if I'll shop the furniture or start grabbing gifts for loved ones since I'll be really, really pregnant by Christmas time. There have been some items that I have been oogling for quite some time now. I should probably get a wreath to replace the one that's been on my front door since April (whoops!). Who knows, I may have to pull the trigger on the metallic embroidered leather pouf that I definitely don't need but I definitely do want... all I do know is that I love to shop at Cost Plus World Market, the Fall Collection looks AMAZING ( I mean c'mon look at these lanterns) and this Grand Opening weekend should be no exception!

Snag your 20% coupon (yay savings!) for the Hyannis Grand Opening Weekend and get your shopping list ready!

Daytrippin' to Nantucket

I'm still having flashbacks to my first trip to Nantucket just last week. The day, really, was pretty much as perfect as it could get. The weather was sunshiney and breezy. The company was fun loving and comfortable and the food + shopping were right up my alley. I sort of don't know where to start when I'm trying to express how much I loved Nantucket and can't wait to take my husband back. We can start with the picturesque views. From the fast ferry ride over, to the quaint corners waiting for us when we got there, everything was just lovely... the island was full of life, in every corner, on our day trip out.

We jaunted around the island tasting fudge, shopping, sipping on iced coffees, snapping photos and of course, shopping some more. Actually, I'm still regretting leaving behind a gorgeous Sara Campbell Necklace (pictured below)... Don't they say if you're still thinking about it, it's meant to be? In any event, the shopping on island is two thumbs up... and actually, I feel like I only got to see a small fraction of the shops when we were definitely an efficient traveling group of ladies on the move.

Shopping aside, the food was just everthing too. Fresh Oyesters, lobster rolls, italian ice, time perfected on island fudge, artisan pizzas... I ate my weight in deliciousness and all outdoors. It was actually pretty splendid and an escape from my norm. I can't remember the last time that I ate at a leisurely pace and it was all sorts of wonderful. I'd love to head bACK just to try more flavors of my new Summer crush, ICE Nantucket. I bet you could head on island just to eat and be contented with you trip!

As I mentioned, the company I kept on this trip was top notch. I loved getting to know some local bloggers better and meeting some new gals, too! Here are some of my favorite social snaps from my Nantucket partners in crime for the day: Jessica of Oh I Design, Faith of Design-Fixation, Vanessa of City Girl Guide and Celina of Trends and Tolstoy and of course, me!
