12 Days of Giving- Day Five

It's the holidays y'all and I have sort of started a tradition where I try to gather some like minded ladies to put some positive vibes out into the world via something that we're doing every day- on our computers, phones, tablets etc. You may remember last year's giving back series here on the blog and we've decided to kick it up a notch for 2017 because in my humble opinion, we need a little more love and kindness this holiday season! Each day we are donating to a specific and worthwhile charity while also celebrating in high style with a brand that we love. It's really about bringing attention to great organizations while also having a little fun! So here's the deal, I've asked my ladies to give me three words that describe how they are blessed. It can be in all their years, just this year, the day they sent me my email. Three words. It's easier said than done when you're really trying to think about how you are fortunate. So before I get to today's ladies, charity and giveaway, I ask you to do the same exercise. What are three words that you would use to describe how you're blessed?

Today's donation was made to Action Against Hunger- USA, a great charity that is working hard to ensure that people's basic health and wellness needs are met. Action Against Hunger saves the lives of severely malnourished children while helping vulnerable communities become self-sufficient. With more than 6,500 staff in over 45 countries, their programs in nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and water, sanitation, and hygiene reached more than 14.9 million people last year. If that isn't a charity worth supporting, then I don't know what kind is!

If you follow me at all, you know that I have had an admiration for today's brand for a very long time. Michal Golan, based out of NYC, is an amazing handcrafted jewelry brand that creates pieces that speak to me! I had the opportunity to visit their studio this past month and it was amazing to see where the pieces are made, the team behind the brand and I learned a little bit about their history. They are the kind of business that I like to support and they love to help me celebrate as well! The team at Michal Golan has generously offered one reader the opportunity to win their Blue Frost Pendant from the collection of the same name. It will be the perfect piece for Winter no matter what holidays you celebrate!

Michal Golan: Made in the USA with Heart and Soul and Magic + a Giveaway!

A couple of Summers ago, I entered a giveaway on Instagram, I can't even remember how I found it-- but it was that day that I discovered Michal Golan and the interesting, unique and beautiful jewelry that's made in NYC with heart, passion and creativity. I ended up winning that Hamsa bracelet and ever since then, we've sort of developed a little online relationship- which I love. When Ariel over there wanted to work on something together, I jumped at the opportunity to share with you some of my favorite pieces and MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE piece, the Mojave Flower Necklace.

Mojave Flower Necklace
Something about the way the jewelry is made, in NYC, by an accomplished and dedicated designer really appeals to me. The Michal Golan brand has been around since the '80's but as long as they have been in business, I don't think they're getting the attention they deserve. Something about the way that the pieces are made with funky stones, colors and shapes is very recognizable to me now, since I have grown to love everything I see from them.

I think rather than buying fast jewelry or trinkets that are of no real value to us, it would be much better for our purchases to be mindful and really focused on something that speaks to us. If you choose a piece that you are really drawn to, made from really quality materials, then it will stand the test of time in your collection. That's how I feel about the Mojave Flower Necklace. I also crush on a lot of the jewelry that Michal Golan and team have created. There's a funky feminity that I really dig.

I don't need anything, I really don't but if I am feeling like I need some new jewelry, rather than just grabbing anything,  I want to support a true maker. Finding quality and something that resonates with my spirit is a rarity these days, so I will embrace my funky femininity with a little of Michal Golan's. Do you want a little piece of this action for yourself? The team at Michal Golan have very generously offered to make a Mojave Flower Necklace for one Prim and Propah reader for their very own! So awesome, right? Just enter on the instagram post below, it's as easy as that!

"What do the holidays mean to you?" It's an interesting question when you think about the wide range of answers you could receive when you ask it. The holidays will come and go with the blink of an eye but don't you think it would be amazing to stop and take note of what we have, what we are thankful for and + also take the opportunity to get a glimpse of what makes the holidays so special for other people? Every day this week, you can stop by to find out what the holidays mean to a variety of talented ladies, some of whom you may know and others you might not... but one thing is for certain, they were excited to share their experiences with you. They are bloggers, makers, teachers, writers ...they are women who I admire. Each lady submitted a picture of their choice to show a little more about themselves and I love what everyone contributed! I am going to introduce you to each woman with one thing I love about them.
  • Alaina of Extras by Alaina is ever so talented but more importantly she is as lovely as the Backstreet Boys are my favorite boy band. Did that make sense? She gets it, I'm sure. She's awesome that way.
  • Ali of Ali Singer Yoga is a yoga instructor with heart. Her Yoga Hub has brought together yogis from the Boston area to unite to make a difference. She is a generous soul whose light shines bright!
  • Beverly of Linkouture creates gorgeous and accessible jewelry but what I admire about her the most is her Mompreneurial spirit that keeps creative juices flowing while she spends beautiful days with her daughter.
  • Ana of Scavengenius is my favorite Brazilian girl on the Boston scene. She loves her dog, snaps her everyday in the most lovely way and has a kind heart that makes me smile.
  • Alicia of Alicia Tenise is a girl about town in our nation's capital. I've loved drooling over her style posts for years now because she has this authentic air about her that makes me appreciate the time and care that she puts into her posts!
  • Jenny of Jenny Ravikumar is a yoga teacher, self-love guru, advanced reiki practicioner and crystal healer. As if that weren't enough, her new role as Mama Bear has got me feeling like she's truly a kindred spirit!
What could make this an even better series, you ask? My answer to you would be, 5 AMAZING brands who jumped at the chance to help us celebrate by offering giveaways to our readers. Make sure to read each gal's blurb (+ click their picture to visit their site) and also see what Michal Golan Jewelry has for one lucky reader!
