12 Days of Giving- Day One

It's the holidays y'all and I have sort of started a tradition where I try to gather some like minded ladies to put some positive vibes out into the world via something that we're doing every day- kickin' it on our computers, phones, tablets etc. You may remember last year's giving back series here on the blog and we've decided to kick it up a notch for 2017 because in my humble opinion, we need a little more love and kindness this holiday season! Each day we are donating to a specific and worthwhile charity while also celebrating in high style with a brand that we love. It's really about bringing attention to great organizations while also having a little fun! So here's the deal, I've asked my ladies to give me three words that describe how they are blessed. It can be in all their years, just this year, the day they sent me my email. Three words. It's easier said than done when you're really trying to think about how you are fortunate. So before I get to today's ladies, charity and giveaway, I ask you to do the same exercise. What are three words that you would use to describe how you're blessed? 

We supported the Pajama Program last year and got the most wonderful thank you email from the program's founder that I wanted to include them in the series again this year. It's easy for some of us to take pajamas and children's books for granted when we have the stability and blessings of a secure home life. Some children are not so fortunate. The Pajama Program provides not just pajamas but literacy support for children across the country. I just love what they are doing and am so happy to have found them. Our donation has worked to provide pajamas and bedtime books for 10 kids this year. When you look at it that, even our small series here has helped a great organization help special kids have a better night!

I am so happy to have Cost Plus World Market starting this holiday celebration off right. I love shopping there. You've seen me working with them a lot and I think they are a great representation of a brand that values their partnerships, customers and also charitable foundations. The Importance of Giving Back, Day Four

Every day this week, myself, along with other bloggers/content creators are banding together to show why it's important to each and every one of us to "give back". Giving back to your community or causes that are important to you and your family is something that not only leaves you feeling good but truly can make an impact in people's lives. We've all pooled together our own money to make donations to a different, very worthwhile charity each day this week. We aren't millionaires and we can all certainly say that we are busy but we thought it was important at this time of year to show that being charitable isn't something we do to be stylish, it's something we do because we care about others less fortunate than we are. Along with our donations, we encourage you to make small donations yourself (just click on through) because every little but counts. We promise, it will make you feel awesome... and because we like to have a little fun as well, there's a giveaway each day! Today's donation was made to the Pajama Program. Millions of children in America are not able to experience what our own children take for granted. Sleeping in shelters and unfamiliar places, sometimes with no belongings of their own, they are vulnerable and scared. By distributing new pajamas and new books to children in need, the fine people at the Pajama Program are able to help provide children with a comforting, nurturing bedtime and literacy support. Their reading center helps to bridge the 30,000,000 word gap these kids have from their peers and gives these children the opportunity to read one on one with an adult, something they may not otherwise experience. They support children from birth to 18 years of age in foster care, shelters, who have been abused or neglected as well as children in headstart programs. Please take a look at what they're doing. They may not be the most recognized charity but what they are doing is very good work that has a real impact on real children. 

So what else is amazing about this series? Besides the amazing women and their commitments to giving back?
