Wakunaga of America Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic

*This post was created in collaboration with MomsMeet and Wakunaga of America Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic. All opinions are 100% my own.

I have to say, what a weird time to be writing a post about a Kids Probiotic but I had made some committments prior to everything going on and we go on with life in the small ways that we can, am I right? I have worked with MomsMeet on a lot of campaigns before but as a family, we have never really looked into probiotics. When they asked me if we'd like to take a peek at Wakunaga of America Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic, I was like sure, why not? I've been meaning to research some probiotics.

I've never given my kids a probiotic before and in order to give anything to my kids, and well, me and my husband too, I make sure I do a fair amount of research.

From WebMD: So what is a probiotic? Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for you, especially your digestive system. We usually think of these as germs that cause diseases. But your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called "good" or "helpful" bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy. You can find probiotics in supplements and some foods, like yogurt. Doctors often suggest them to help with digestive problems. How Do They Work? Researchers are trying to figure out exactly how probiotics work. Some of the ways they may keep you healthy: When you lose "good" bacteria in your body, for example after you take antibiotics, probiotics can help replace them.--They can help balance your "good" and "bad" bacteria to keep your body working the way it should.

I would feel most comfortable emailing my doctor if I needed the advice on a specific type of probiotics for my needs. Our physicians use email and telehealth, especially right now, so that we could ask questions that don't require a trip into the office. My kids just had strep throat and were on antibiotics so that might be something that I would inquire about or if any of us might be having digestive issues, maybe difficulty with our poop schedule. I also understand that there is a connection with gut health and immune support, so especially now, it would be great to check in with your doctor to see if there's something you can be using as a supplement to help your family.
