Autumn Evening Night Out #WalkOn

When you are heading out for a night on the town or even just to a fancy Autumn party, a girl has got to get it done with a fantastic pair of shoes. Now if you know me, and you might by now, you obvi know that I am somewhat obsessed with shoes... well, shoes and cheese... but this post is not about cheese. This post is about my favorite evening shoes for Fall and how I work an outfit around them. They happen to be a fierce pair of platform booties that are totally functional while impressing people with how I can walk in "those things". Check it.

I have gotten really good at walking in heels but my new favorite shoes to buy are platforms. For the past year, I have been bringing platforms to my every day, my work life and my evening looks. Being that I am 5 short feet and 2 shorter inches, a girl has got to add some height but with platforms, the arch on my feet isn't so uncomfortable. These are the perfect shoes for hoofing it, trying to grab taxis and just plain lookin' good. So what's my go to evening look? You can say black is so blah but black is my go to. I picked up these G by Guess Jaxon Booties at DSW while out with the MIL a couple weeks ago and I will never look back. They are my favorite shoes right now, hands down.  Black is effective in it's simplicity but it's also pretty bad ass in the form of sick suede platforms and pairing that with motorcycle jackets. I like to mix textures (ex: my Rachel Roy faux leather/stretch moto jacket) if I am not going to insert any color. You can keep it interesting with different touches of personality.

While black is basic, there is no reason you can't add pops of color if that's what you are feeling in the mood for. I sometimes opt for a different color nail polish or lip color to add a little pop. Heck, the booties that I bought come in a magenta, teal and glitter version so you can always build around that. What did I wear for pants? Dark denim in the form of a skinny jean is my fave but you can always grab some tights and a sleek skirt to girl it up a little. My end goal? It's to dress where I would be a smidge scary in the daylight but be super awesome in the twilight into night. There is something freeing about dressing for an evening out. Am I right?

Want to shop the look? I picked some of my favorite items out there right now:

*Side Note: One can really learn what the profile of their nose looks like when the shadows play against the wall in a perfect way haha. I now know how prominent it is on my face!

  4. It's always nice when a rough motorcycle jacket meets the simplicity of feminine accessories like your "Love" stud earrings. Great choice!
