Von Follies By Dita Von Teese

Von Follies by Dita Von Teese hit the runway during L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival on March 10, 2012 in Melbourne, Australia. This served as the "grand entrance" of sorts for her lingerie line that is exclusive (for now) to Australian Target Stores, those lucky ducks. Dita has mentioned that mayhaps her line may make it to the states, and this is something I am crossing my fingers for. Dita designs for all body types, no lie, I could get her sexay lingerie in a size to fit these melons. Check it out.

The collection was pretty, feminine and edgy ( I mean they did have whips, leather and suspenders in there too) with that ever so lovely Dita Von Teese burlesque touch. Hats, sequins and fringe, OH MY! The models, as you can see, were curvy... and so downright refreshing, that I almost can't stand that I cannot purchase any of these items right now. Even the models on the Australian Target's website are curvy; I love it! Dita is glamorous on her own but there is a whole new level to my girl crush now.

"From age 16 I worked in a lingerie store, and I had a very strong interest in the history of underpinnings and how styles changed from decade to decade. Even at age sixteen, I wanted to be a lingerie expert, so I did everything I could to learn about it! I started collecting vintage lingerie at a young age, and my love for it is what lead me to imitate pinup art of the 1940s, and that is what sparked my career as it is now. Even back then, I equated beautiful lingerie with femininity and everyday luxury rather than seduction. Of course, the art of seducing with lingerie is a wonderful thing, and I am quite aware of the effect it has....but first and foremost, a woman should seduce herself by choosing lingerie that is both beautiful and functional that she can wear in her everyday life, and so bringing these things together, along with affordability, is what I aimed to achieve with my lingerie collection."
